Monitoring clothes-moth activity

Pheromone traps can be useful for observing adult moth activity near stored textiles. A captured adult moth is evidence of activity at the monitor; it is not by itself proof of larvae, an infestation or textile damage.

What to do with an observation

Review the trap, record what you can confirm, and inspect susceptible textiles and nearby areas when activity is detected. Seek an appropriate textile-conservation or pest-management professional for specialist assessment.
